“We met the living God” An entire family turns to Christ

The old Sonu The new Sonu

The Old Sonu                                                              The New Sonu

This is the story of how the grace of God was showered on a tribal family in one of the remotest villages in Chhattisgarh. From Narainpur we have to travel 25km through the jungle to reach this village called Chereng. The entire family of  Sonu were unbelievers.   When we visited the village right from 2001, this family showed interest in the Gospel. From 2001 we started a Bible study group in their house. The group gradually grew – Sonu’s sister’s family and his younger brother’s family too joined for prayer and fellowship. Later all of them got baptized and joined the church.

The entire tribe lived like savages. But when the love of Jesus spread in their lives they saw the light through the Word of God. There was a tremendous change in their life. Though illiterate they assimilated God’s Word in their hearts and memorized Bible verses. Every Sunday, they used to bring at least 2 new persons with them.
God blesses them materially too. In the place of the old grass – thatched huts, they have tile-roofed houses now. A strong fellowship group is formed in this village too. Sonu is their leader, a light to shine in the dark.. What a great transformation! What a great blessing!
